A great good morining :)

It is Saturday and we got  more snow last night,,,, come on spring ,, hurry please :)
So todays question  is :: can you eat to many non starchy vegetables ??
Breakfast was




breakfast scramble  ( shredded rutabaga ,peppers,onions,egg and bacon ) and an orange









Morning snack

blueberries and greek yogurt , some cherry tomatoes and red pepper slices






lite lunch ( before shopping yeah! )
cheddar cheese, mac apple, cherry tomatoes and red pepper slices
afternoon snack
cottage cheese and peaches with a side of normandy vegetables


snack of
a hard boiled egg, 1/2 a banana and more veggies











munching today on veggies and walnuts while shopping








Dinner was
3oz of roast pork, 1/3 cup of peas and 1/2  cup of cherries





bed time snack
flax seed bun with ham also a chunk of cheddar .
Calories for the day 1597. carbs 116 g , protein 102g.
I ate about every two hours today and my blood sugar stayed pretty level all day. :)

March 1st

We got about 2 inches of snow last night. I am soooooo very very ready for spring.

 Today is March 1st , Spring will be here before we know it ,, ( I 'm excited :)  )


I realized this morning my batteries in my camera are low ( must shop soon ) so the quality of the pictures is worse than usual .


Great way to start the day
I have been 170 for about the last 3 weeks, I am starting to get a bit frustrated.

So it is time to reevaluate my food and crack down on my calories




Breakfast was ; an egg, 2 slices of turkey bacon on a homemade flax seed bun



As I pack my cooler to take to work






The last of the homemade veggie soup with lamb, quinoa and lentils    also blueberries in greek yogurt, a banana, carrots, an  hard boiled egg , an apple , cheddar cheese and some walnuts .

Dinner was 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon and about ( nope I did not measure it ) 3 ozs of cheddar cheese ( I really need to go grocery shopping )and some cherries .

Back to work today , I was successful and did get my taxes done yesterday ,,, all but writing the checks ( not pleased when I owe them )

So more food pictures. Thank you Stacy at     The Skinny on Staci             for my inspiration for taking food pictures :) 


These pictures are as I was packing my cooler to go to work. I dont call it a lunch box because it involves much more than lunch.


this picture is ( starting at the top and going clockwise)  blueberries and greek yogurt for my morning break,, the mug is homemade veggie soup with ground lamb,quinoa and lentils for lunch , next is free veggies for munching,, then an egg and banana for my snack when I leave work and the snack bag has and apple ( cut up ) and a slice of cheddar for my afternoon break
after taking this picutre I relized I needed more carbs for lunch and added
peaches (to go with the soup at lunch) for a bit more carbs and then some walnuts for munching during the day .



Breakfast was , left over corned beef hash ,,( made with rutabaga,carrots ,onion,zucchini ,yellow squash,corned beef,,) an egg and an orange

Dinner was very similar to breakfast,
Useing up the left over rutabaga I made rutabaga hash browns with peppers and onions. 3 strips of turkey bacon and 2 eggs
No picture of dinner ,,the picture I took   did not turn out well :(
Todays totals :
calories 1692 , carbs 179, protien82
a bit higher in calories  than I would like ,,, have to work on that  :)



As you can tell I am a grazer . My preference would be to eat all day long. Which is ok as long as it is just a little bit here and there ,, not major meals all day long.

I have always had trouble with my blood sugar levels dropping to very low levels ,, recently I have been diagnosed with reactive  hypoglycemia and am trying to learn how to eat all day long to control my hypoglycemia but still lose the excess 20 pounds I am still carrying around .

food pictures

I am trying something new
Taking picutres of my food and posting them,,, this will be fun ,lol My camera is not the best so bear with me.
I am home today( I am suppose to be doing my taxes )   so kind of a lazy morning .




Breakfast was

rutabaga hashbrowns , an egg,2 slices of turkey bacon, an orange and coffee





 morning snack was

1/2 cup of greek yogurt and 1/2 cup blueberries and more (lol) coffee


lunch was home made vegetable soup with quinoa and lentils and ham on a flax seed bun


and a banana


afternoon snack was an apple and peanut butter ( yep i  measured out the peanut butter :) )
 can you tell I am having fun with the food pictures ,lol

 Then a late afternoon (while working on my taxes ) snack of red pepper strips, carrots and chedder cheese .


and for dinner Corned beef hash ( kinda ,lol ) made with carrots ,onion,rutabaga,zucchini, yellow squash and corned beef

and cherries for desert  ( sorry no picture)

 Totals for the day,,

1505 calories , 131g of carbs,66g of protein 

I have really enjoyed posting the pictures today but alas I am back to work tomorrow.
I will try to keep up with the picture if I can :)

UPDATE ON FEBRUARY 25th,,2013
Todays weight is ;
170.4 - 9 pounds in the past 3 months,, not great but not bad considering the holidays and winter.
I am hoping that getting back to blogging with help me get back on track



I had to really look for pictures of me

I am about 230 in this one






My (dream ) goal weight is 149
but I will be SUPER DUPER happy with 159

Thursday

The weather the past few days has be GORGEOUS , temps in the mid to high 60's and sunny.
 That all came to an abrupt halt this evening. The temps drooped into the 40"s and rain and wind :(  
Oh well I  enjoyed the really nice weather while we had it .

  Is it to early to start counting the day until spring ?? ,lol

Todays weight 179.0
 I am down 77 pounds from my top weight top   of 256. I am grinning  : )  .

My (former) dietitian and (former) trainer  both suggested that I go no lower than 167. I am 5'6" and very muscular ( for a girl  :) )   My personal goal is 155 -159.  But truthfully that is my vanity talking because that is what I weighted  in high school ,, a million years ago ,lol

My trainer and dietitian are both "former " because I can not afford them . . It was money well spent but not an expense I can afford on a regular basis.
Former dietitian was the one who suggested the exchanges plan. The exchanges are the same that a diabetic would use.  Different than weight watchers and different than counting every calorie. I feel more in control when using the exchanges,, not sure why but it is what it is  :)
